Bender from Futurama (Crochet Pattern)

My husband and his dad love the show Futurama and used to watch it together. So, for my husband's last Birthday I made Bender. I couldn't find a pattern for Bender online so I made up one myself. I have to admit though that if I had more time, this pattern would have been better written. There might be mistakes and if you do find them, please let me know.

You will notice that there is very little sewing here. I don't like sewing heads and arms and legs to the body so where I could, I would just use the surface crochet stitch to start the next part. For example, after I finished the head, I started the body from the head instead of crocheting it separately and then sewing the two together.

Your finished Bender should about 20 inches high.

Also, if you happen to take pictures while you're making him, please send me some. I will include them in here and give you the credit for it, of course.

Materials:

1. Crochet hook - size G
2. Gray yarn - about 300 yards
3. White yarn - for eyes and mouth
4. Black yarn
5. Yarn needle
6. Stuffing

Notes:

1. When decreasing, use the invisible decrease technique. Here is a great tutorial: TUTORIAL

2. I also use the surface crochet stitch a lot: to make the black lines on Bender and to start a new part. Here is a tutorial: SURFACE CROCHET
